Dog poo

All week Miriam and I and been in the foundry workshop mass producing dog poo. We have gone through stages in the workshop having 1 rubber mould to know 4. Each rubber mould takes about 3 hours to set, but while creating more moulds alongside we have been making plaster poos with a total last week being nearly 50.  Our aim is to get as many dog poo's as possible in the time we have and them play around with photography.  Here are a few pictures showing some of the stages we went through.. it has been a lengthly process...

Our idea has changed alot through the time of being in the foundry, firstly we wanted to spray all the poo's brown and put them in a park and photography it say? on the grass, but this idea we felt wasn't as capturing as we thought. However now we are really set on the idea of spraying the nearly 100 poo's metallic gold along with sprinkling on gold glitter and place them in a hilly park to show height and photograph them as a shrine to a dog walking park..which all owners have to deal with but to see the poo as a new light.. golden poo hmm will it work, we shall soon see.

Shrine...

After our presentations we were paired up by our tutors, who put us in couples in which they felt would go well together.. Amazingly someone else in my class did their presentation about their dog Mr Binks. At this point i thought that we had quite a solid idea for a shrine having two dogs to work with, however as the days went by we came up with loads of ideas via email but none of them seemed strong enough. We both experimented with a few ideas using dog biscuits but none of them stood out as a shrine to dogs. We wanted something that would have the "ahhhhhhhh" gleam effect just like how our dogs are when they see us, their excitement.

So at the moment we are planning to stick with the idea of dog poo being the shrine of our dog, the bags we go through picking it all up... we was even tempted to create some facts in park with dog poo but we felt from a distance you wouldnt know it was dog related, therefore the idea we are working on now should show the dog element from far and close.. with the far element working if we are able to create a giant dog poo.

What i am just NUTS about...

We were told to put together a presentation based on something we are passionate about or what we are just nuts about.. for this project the first thing that entered my head was my scatty springer spaniel

BAILEY

Name: Bailey Shaw
Age: 1 year and about 4 months

So for the deadline we were to produce a max. 3 min presentation which would clearly show our love, passion and craze for out subject. Having not used many video programs before I chose to stick with added videos i previously had, and also a collage of images for everyone to see which was to run alongside a music track. The track i chose for my video I found quite quirky and went with my idea of doing everything with my dog :) Even though sometimes he can be a right pain in the backside...

'A Piece of paper'

At the beginning of the course we were asked to interact with the public using 'a piece of paper.' We were put into groups and using a single sheet of A1 white paper we were to some how get as many people from the public to interact with our sheet. We sat around over lunch and thought of a few ideas with a favourite being paper plane races, therefore we stuck with that idea.

We had 3 hours to get as many interactions as possible and here are a few photographs...

We set the public a target which was to try and beat the previous persons distance, everybody had a choice of 5 airplane's including our giant plane (the favourite). A majority of our interactions were in groups of 3, old and young.

Total: 65 interactions.
